Jocelyn Barrow was a Trinidadian-born business woman, broadcaster, and social reformer whose leadership reshaped Britain’s approach to equality and opportunity. As governor of the BBC and founder of the Campaign Against Racial Discrimination, she championed inclusion in education, business, and public life. She dedicated her career to expanding access to learning and leadership for Black communities in Britain. Her advocacy for fair employment and education reform laid the groundwork for greater participation of Black people in economics, mathematics, and business—reminding us that progress begins with opportunity.
